Concept: Staircase
Concept Circular Staircase This is the staircase I have designed situated up on the upper floor extending from Muek's studio into the gallery. The stairs have been designed to have circular steps, the orginal inspiration coming from the idea of having a 360 degrees view of the gallery which is circular.
It has been designed to follow the circular shape of the gallery while the transparency created from glass on the steps further enables viewer to look down upon the works inside the gallery. The word that the staircase is based on is 'challenging', the idea of having a 360 degree vision stair is suppose to thus challenge the viewer when viewing artworks
Floral Steps
These steps have been designed for connecting from the gallery level into Banksy's studio, the inspiration for these stairs coming from flowers. The idea behind these stairs being that once you have reached ground level the viewer can look up and enjoy the aesthetics of stairs which resmeble flowers from the studio level. The word that the second stair case is based on is 'escape' the idea behind this is that, when viewing the staircase in terms of aesthetic elements it provides viewers an 'escape'.
